Cars 2 in Cinemas July 2011 Cars 2 in Cinemas July 2011 Pixar / Disney

When it comes to Pixar movies you rarely can go wrong, there's a certain quality that you are guaranteed with Pixar movies - you know you're going to be in for a treat and this is the case, pretty much, with Cars 2.

However, I can't call it a classic.  The story stuttered, got distracted and it didn't know whether it wanted to race or be a spy.  I enjoyed the amazing graphics, some of the sequences were truly stunning and I didn't feel at any point that this film was a recycle of previous efforts, it was a visual treat and the characters were fun to watch, it truly was only the story that let it down (and the brief moments of being fed 'educational' lessons about bio-fuel, but I guess that's not a bad message).

I didn't get the twist, which is unusual - others I was with claimed they saw it a mile off so maybe that's why I didn't enjoy the story so much - I didn't figure it out!   I did enjoy the nod to Paul Newman's character right at the beginning, and I thought Michael Caine was a great choice as the British Spy - I was also impressed with how true they kept to the layout of London.

So whilst I did enjoy Cars 2, I wasn't blown away - I did however really enjoy the short Toy Story film that played just before.

So Christmas was ruined in 2012, well.. kinda.  Christmas Eve 8pm saw the last ever episode of Merlin broadcast in the UK, and with mixed emotions it was the end of what had become quite a brilliant show.

Many moons ago I did the 'Stage Door' thing and it was an experience, but not one I've repeated since.  A few weeks ago I went as a spectator only to the Avengers Premiere at Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherds Bush, I

It wasn't what I was expecting to be doing to be fair that day.  Not only did I get to go onto the MK Dons pitch, but Conan the Destroyer and Superman was also there, and they somehow managed to talk the groundsmen into ge

To be a geek or a nerd, that is the question
A question I am often asked 'are you a geek or a nerd?'  I will always answer that I am a geek, or a g33k if I'm trying to really scare people.  The following infographic is one of the best descriptions of the whole Geek/
